Ramsey 9500UT Installed

I’ve recently purchased (staff price through work) a Ramsey Patriot 9500 UT, and installed it. I’m  very happy with the winch so far, but I haven’t had a chance to wheel with it yet.

- It comes with a wireless remote. You install a small module and antenna under the hood, and run a plug out your grill and attach it to the back of the winch so it’s ready to plug in like a normal remote when you need it. You don’t want to leave it plugged in all the time in case someone grabs your remote thingy and starts pressing buttons asking (WHATS THIS DO?!). No, this hasn’t happened to me, but I thought it could.

- It has an automatic clutch. This means it will engage the clutch when you start winching. This allows you to release the clutch, walk to the tree and hook up, and then start winching without having to walk back to engage the clutch. This is especially useful if you have a winch bitch.

Anyway.. here are a few pictures. I also made a small aluminum bracket to attach to the bolts of the fairlead that I can mount my old KC lights.

Smart idea with the lights monted on the fairlead bolts! I have an Aries ARC with the 2 light mounts on the lower outside corners and at the top of the “push bar”. I wonder what doing what you did along with what i already have would look like and function like?
Point of post: I’m saving for a Warn PowerPlant because my buddy has one and we’ve used it many times for airing up after crwalling or just after a day of being aired down. Along with the fact that it’s a Warn, with a great warranty, excellent solenoid, huge pulling power and the extras that the PowerPlant comes with, this seems to be my choice. BUT…you’ve bought right, are quite obviously informed and experienced (more than me). Why the Ramsey for you? (besides the automatic clutch - VERY cool!).
Your thoughts, ideas and opinions would help!
    Thanks!

Honestly the main reason is because of the price from work. I knew they were good winches, so I figured i would give it a go. I also get the advantage of having work bill me as if I ordered tools. So they just take some off each paycheque and I don’t miss the money.
